Various festivals enliven the San Vito summer: at the end of July there is the festival of sa Prazzira and de sa Pezza de Craba, 'typical pizza' and goat meat, accompanied by folk shows and an exhibition-market of typical products. At the end of August, in San Priamo, the festival de su Pisci is staged, with tasting of roasted fish, and in the village sa Cursa a su Coccoi, an equestrian carousel in which the riders at speed pierce a typical bread. The descents of the riders alternate with acrovades of skilled jockeys. The donkey palio is part of the event, a show that mainly involves children. The Savitesi events are accompanied by the melodious sound of the launeddas, a polycalamo instrument whose origins are lost in time. The Academy of master Luigi Lai today hands down the use of an ancestral Sarrabese tradition.
