London 2010 logo outrage puts sale of Beijing Olympic tickets on sidelines

beijing 2008 olympic logoThe sale of tickets for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics which went on sale today seems to have been sidelined somewhat by the furore which has been unleashed upon the London 2012 Olympic Organisers who are in the midst of a publicity nightmare. The official logo of London 2012 Summer Olympic Games was released to the public but has been nationally ridiculed as being amateur and branded everything from graffiti at a local bus stop, a multicoloured swastika to an eighties disco sign.

Beijing Olympic tickets go on sale in Hong Kong

beijing 2008 logoIt’s official, tickets for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Summer Games go on sale from June 5th in Hong Kong, according to the China Travel Service, the official ticketing agent of the Beijing Olympic Games. A 3-phase ticketing sales operation is in place with 7 million affordable tickets on sale now. 75%  of tickets are to sold domestically and the rest will be available to overseas  buyers. Prices start from $200 rising to $5000 and the rush will be for tickets to the Opening and Closing ceremonies to be held at the incredible Beijing National Stadium. This hotly awaited designer piece of architectural is currently under construction along with all other Olympic Venues as confirmed last week by the Beijing Olympic Committee.

All Beijing Olympic Venues Under Construction

With just 433 days to the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics Games,the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games confirmed earlier this month that all thirty-one of the Beijing-based venues are now under construction. Temporary venue for the triathlon event and urban road cycling course begun in earnest in April in addition to the 12 venues which are being built from scratch, such as the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, and include some of the largest architectural projects from the 18,000 capacity Beijing Wukesong Cultural & Sports Centre to the Beijing National Stadium, known as the ‘birds nest’ it will host both the opening and closing ceremonies seating up to 100,000 people.
