Soma Bay Egypt Attracts Kempinski Hotel Brand
News that luxury hotel chain Kempinski Hotels has extended their network of hotels to include the Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay is great news for Egypt, a country which has seen visitor numbers rise substantially over the last few years. The resort of Soma Bay sits on Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera coast which in recent years has become something of an overseas property hotspot.
Kempinski Hotels has been very selective in the overseas markets in which they trade, wishing to protect not 
only the brand but also ensure they are trading in tourist markets which have excellent growth potential for the future. The Kempinski seal of approval is something which has been well received by the Egyptian authorities and has not gone unnoticed by property investors around the world.
When you consider that visitor numbers for Egypt reached 9.8 million in 2007 (a rise of over 13% on the previous year) and are set to rise to over 11 million by 2010, it becomes a little clearer as to why Kempinski Hotels have targeted the Soma Bat resort area. Official figures also show that there were 96 million “tourist nights” spent in Egypt, showing how large the market actually is for the hotel industry. The Soma Bay hotel enjoys a beach front location and offers luxury on tap for those visiting the area. Restaurants, waterfalls, lagoons and an array of health and sports facilities also add to the mix, ensuring that demand for accommodation is sure to be high. Interestingly, such is Kempinski’s reputation for exposure to growth markets that many property investors around the world have taken a second look at Egypt, with more and more starting to wake up to the potential of this great land.
