Property Gallery and Description
Peaceful, private and beautiful are only a few of the words used to descripe this 140 acres or 56 hectare piece of land. Situated on a small lake with mountain views in the background . This property is located in the Lakes District, of beautiful British Columbia. If you want to get away from it all this, is where to be.
The land is at the end of a .8 km, Government maintained road. There are no through roads so privacy is not an issue.
If you are looking for a nice and tranquil place on this earth to live, you have found it here. Lets begin with the surrounding area. Full of large and smaller lakes, rivers, streams and mountain views. It is a very scenic area with hunting, fishing and many other summer and winter outdoor activities, all in your back yard.
The property is 10 minutes from Takysie Lake Resort, store, and restaurant. About 25 minutes from the Francois Lake Ferry, a 10 minute ferry ride then about 15 to 20 minutes from the town of Burns Lake. The nearest cities are Smithers and Prince George, with airports at both of them.

If you currently live outside of Canada, you will probably already know that this country has exscaped relatively unscathed from the Global Recession. Our economy is still doing great andour banking sysems are deemed to be some of the best in the world.
Now, back to the property.
It has a 0.8 km crushed gravel road leading to it from the main road. The property itself lays out almost like a 9 hole golf course. I have not farmed it so there have not been any domestic animals on it for about seven years, or so. Only the local inhabitants of moose, deer, bears, coyotes, a wolf or two and lots of rabbits and grouse have been on the land. If you were to farm it you would have to do a little work to the fields. If not, just have the hay cut or, have someone range their horses on it for the summer. Cheaper and easier. To my knowledge, pesticides have never been used on the land.
The land is mostly all southern exposure. Lots of sunshine and just high enough so it is hardly ever fogged in during the autumn season. A great place to install solar systems for lights and hot water. You could live off the grid, if desired.
The house burned down in 2011. It has been cleaned up, the basement is ready for levelling and foundations. (see photo) There are some good contractors in the area that would glady build you your dream home or, if you want to do it yourself, there are probably enough trees on the property and ,with a small saw mill you could have one up and liveable in no time. The view from your new home would be spectacular.
The electricity is at the site along with the septic lagoon. The water line to the lake should be redone and would be a good time to replace it while the house is being built. I used rain water from the roof which led to a systern in the basement, so did not worry about the line to the lake.
Below the home is a nice year round pond. The creek running into it is seasonal. There is a great garden spot close to the pond. There are many interesting things yo
