Furniture Packages for Overseas Property

Furniture Packages for your home abroadAfter sales in the overseas property industry is usually an after thought for many companies. Many clients have expressed that companies promise them an excellent after sales service, but it is usually a lady on reception fobbing them off with lame excuses.

Over the last few years I have seen new companies springing up everywhere, who specialise in aspects of the so called “after sales service”.

Today I want to cover Furniture Packs abroad.

When completion of your off plan property is imminent, it is time to start thinking about how you are going to furnish your new home. Whether it is for yourself or for rental, choosing the right furniture is essential.

As “overseas property‿ encompasses many countries I have reviewed a number of furniture package sites below, if you know of any others or have had a good experience with a particular company let us know.

Morocco Furniture Packages

http://www.moroccan-living.co.uk/

Built in flash it looks very professional, but is a little lacking on content.

They offer 3 furniture packages;

Marrakesh collection from £ 4482 Solid wood style
Casablanca collection priced at £ 6099 - £ 6499 Rattan based style
Fes collection priced at £ 4899 - £ 5199 Traditional style

Dubai Furniture Packages

http://www.jgdubai.com/

There are quite a few companies offering packages, but their sites are sparse and uninspiring. However I came across the company above and was impressed with the range of options available catering for all needs and tastes.

The prices range from AED27,000 £ 4154approx — AED100,000 £15,385approx and delivery and installation is free of charge.

This company is actually specialises in property management, but their furniture packs seemed appropriate for this post.

Spanish Property Furniture Packages

Update: Please see of post on Furniture Packages in Spain a comprehensive guide of what to look out for and who to work with.

Villapac have been established for over a year now and have delivered many furniture packages to owners. I have had good feedback from clients and their service seems to be well received.

Villapac has six furniture collections available at present and prices start from £ 4499

Villapac has showrooms in Bolton, Milton Keynes, Fuengirola and are opening in France.

* Also operate in Portugal and the UK See villapac.co.uk

Bulgarian Property Furniture Packages

http://www.bulgaria-furniture.co.uk/

This site run by My John Kaye details exactly what they do and where they cover.

They offer furniture packs for studios, 1 and 2 beds, in varying levels of completeness.

Prices range from 3074€ to 6420€ but are only valid for the Black Sea Coast, for other areas you will have to enquire.

Furniture Packages for properties abroad

www.coordinatedlifestyles.com

Coordinated Lifestyles covers the popular coasts in Spain and the Algarve. They are also intending on being fully operational in Florida by the autumn of 2006. They can also assist with furniture in South Africa, France and some countries in the Far East.

The company has showrooms in Malaga and Torrvieja and are looking to open a new one in Almeria at the end of the summer. UK showrooms are due to open later this year for clients wishing to view these will be located in Bristol and London.

Prices for their packages start at around 12,000€ for a complete turnkey furniture solution, which will include hand made curtains, soft furnishings and privately commissioned artwork. Bespoke furniture can be commissioned for that something special.

I will add other companies over time in other property markets, so watch this space….

I’m buying an off plan property in Northern Cyprus. It won’t be built for 2 years but I’m wondering if you know of any furniture pack companies over there. I’ve been quoted between £3,000 - £6,000 for a furniture pack.

Many thanks for your help.

I have bought flats near M,diq, they are small and I think the furniture packs sound overly expensive. I shall either/both take stuff out myself or buy locally, I have done some research and white goods are a little more expensive than UK, very attractive cane furniture is cheap and strong and has a nice local feel. Morrocan beds seem hard by UK standards.

No information is available from MRI about their furniture packs for Marina Puerto as at Dec 06 and the complex is due for completion in July 07.

It does make you wonder if they will leave it to the last minute, and so leave the owners with little option but to go along with their packs, (and their prices)?

A look around Tetouan did throw up some options, like Mobilia and Kitea for the more up to date styles.
Electricals are available from Marjane, the hypermarket on the outskirts of Tetouan at reasonable prices, not much different from the UK.

Any advice or ideas would be very welcome.

Thanks, Pete.
