Turkish Airlines Announces 11 New Routes

Turkey’s national carrier, Turkish Airlines (THY), is set to add 11 crucial new international flight destinations to its schedule in 2008.

THY will start direct flights to Toronto (Canada), Washington (USA), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Aleppo (Syria), Birmingham (Britain), Lahore (Pakistan), Atyrau (Kazakhstan), Oran (Algeria), Lvov (Ukraine), Ufa (Russia) and Alexandria (Egypt). Based in Istanbul, THY currently operates a young network of scheduled services to 107 international and 32 domestic cities, serving a total of 139 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

In addition, SunExpress Airlines, established in 1989 as a partnership between Turkish Airlines and the German Lufthansa Company, will add Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport to its domestic and international flight hubs. Already flying from Antalya and Izmir, two further aircraft will be based in Istanbul and will fly to Adana, Antalya, Diyarbakir, Erzurum, Kars, Trabzon and Van on domestic routes and to the German cities of Nurnberg, Cologne and Hannover.

Peter,

The routes are still as yet unfinalised but I believe they are in talks with EasyJet to operate from the UK so it would be worth keeping an eye on their website for any flight annoucements.
