Has anyone else spotted the relative merits of nearby resorts to Bansko, which now seems a little overdeveloped for the infrastructure? We are tempted by Banya nearby as it also has the natural hot mineral water springs there and, I hear, plans to build some first class ski and spa centres…

Mat,

Bansko does have a lot of building going on at present and Banya could certainly be an alternative to investors looking for a similar product.

I’m happy to see Bansko developing rapidly. I think more accomodation is needed to support further piste expansion. The recent infrastructure upgrade announcements and new lift systems give me confidence that the local municipality are supporting development there for the long-term.

I bought in the Orchard which I’m surprised isn’t mentioned in this article. I was attracted by the Manhattan Loft connection (they developed and designed it) and the fact that is has the largest spa in Bulgaria (for the same reasons as those given in the article).

Best wishes,

Peter
