Egypt Sharm el Sheikh Flight Direct from Edinburgh
From November 2007 winter holiday makers will be able to fly to the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh direct from Edinburgh. Launched by Flyglobespan, the first direct flight between Edinburgh and the Middle East is to be a new weekly service which should bring more scots to sharm’s scuba diving shores.
The Scotsman website quotes Flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple as saying: “I am very pleased we have been able to add such an exciting destination to our Edinburgh programme. Egypt’s popularity has been growing each year with UK winter sun seekers and it is easy to see why. The climate is superb and it is a fascinating country catering for all holiday tastes. It is steeped in history for the sightseers and offers some of the world’s finest diving and snorkelling.”
Beginning the weekly service later this year as part of its Winter Routes Program, Flyglobespan will continue the route through until March 2008. Well-known as a popular winter sun destination, Sharm el-Sheikh is sure to prove a popular getaway for scottish holidaymakers wanting to escape those winter blues as well as scuba diving enthusiasts wanting a change of scenery from the depths of Scotland’s lochs.
The Sharm el-Sheikh service is another new addition to the airlines route network expansion which has seen the announcement of flights to seven new destinations from Aberdeen as part of the 2007-2008 winter season.
This flight news is further evidence that Britons are taking more overseas trips than over before and as our blog yesterday highlighted exotic experiences are the order of the day. Egypt has hot-footed it onto the Nubricks Overseas Property Radar as an emerging market and Egypt has good investment potential both from a capital appreciation and rental yield perspective. New development in Egypt are springing up in variety of resorts including Sharm el-Sheikh, a premier resort along Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera.
