Bulgarian Dreams continue their podcast tour of Bulgaria
Following on from the Welcome to Bulgaria podcast recorded by Bulgarian Dreams last summer, this in depth tour of Bulgaria’s principal cities and resorts continues with a focus on Bulgaria’s Northern Black sea coast with its craggy cliffs and wild beaches which remains largely unexplored.
This, the second in Bulgarian Dreams podcast series on Bulgaria goes on to explore the cosmopolitan city of Varna and the area to its north up to the Cape of Kaliakra which dates back to ancient Roman times when it was once a principal trading port. Myth and legend is woven into this regions heritage which gives it added appeal.
Alongside history sits natural beauty, the rocky outcrops are a natural bird haven and you can see dolphins in the surrounding caves. These attractions along with ample opportunities for golfing and sailing mean the Northern Black sea coast is evolving as a market for upmarket tourism. The first part of this podcast visits locations such as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the ancient city of Balchik whose working fishing harbour and botanical gardens in the tranquil setting of Queen Marie’s summer palace, a draw for visitor’s year on year.

The podcast follows Ian, a client of Bulgarian Dreams who recently purchased an apartment off-plan in the Windows to Paradise Apartments development not far from Balchik and is on his first viewing trip to see how the development is progressing. Set in an area designated a national park region; the project enjoys sea views overlooking secluded beaches. This three phase development will eventually include a wealth of onsite facilities and will enjoy proximity to two planned professional golf courses as well as a marina where residents will have use of a yacht. Ian’s decision to purchase in the Windows to Paradise project was based on his preference for a more secluded property in less developed location.
The second part of the podcast goes on to visit the city of Varna, whose airport most visitors to this coast will arrive into. The second biggest town in Bulgaria is home to a beautiful sea garden and is popular city meeting place. Soaked in history and culture, Varna houses the largest Roman baths in the Eastern Roman empire and is home to numerous galleries, cathedrals and museums. There is even a museum dedicated to wine giving you the opportunity to get to grips with Bulgaria’s fine wine offerings.
