We are considering purchasing my mother's appartment in Tenerife

She bought it in August 1987 and has a potential capital gain of £50k

What Spanish taxes are she or us liable to pay

We sold our property in Spain on the 2nd april 2009 at less than €13,000 than we paid how do you go about re-claiming this back. Another issue we have is that we have overlooked paying the wealth tax which would have been due from 2004 to 2007. The purchase price was €173000+ plus the taxes and associated expenses selling price €160000. We had a £94000 mortgage on our UK property for the purchase.Any suggestion would be very welcome

If I sell a property in Spain, and pay the CGT in full, will I be liable for any CGT in UK?

Hi. We have bought a house in Spain in August 2005 as a non-residents and would like to sell it to buy a new house in the Czech Republic. Do we have to pay capital gain tax or are we exempt from paying it because we are useing the full purchase price to buy another residance within the EU? We are now in process of registering as a residents in Spain as we moved here in August.
Many thanks PEtra

We are thinking of selling our house in canaries and returning to UK and if we pay the capital gains tax in Spain and the proceeds are put into a uk bank will we have to pay anything in the UK.

We are looking to sell a property that we have owned in Tenerife since 2003. The money that we make will be used to roll into a more expensive property on the island. Could you please confirm if we will be exempt from CGT since we are rolling the money into another investment in the same country.
